Drow are called "The Ones Who Went Below" a society of darkness and lack of trust. The life of a Drow can end quickly or go on for 1000 of years. Many drow dabble in the art of Poison and Toxins and are known to use magic and magical items.
Drow are arrogant, ambitious, sadistic, tracherous and hedonistic. From birth they are taught they are better than other races and should crush those beneath them. Any kindness was punished and had cruelty beaten into them. Drow are not barbaric and appreciate a sense of subtlety and are very courteous to even their most hated rivals. Among other things they were taught they learned never to trust anyone and forge alliances they are confident they could defeat if their ally turned on them. Drow outside of the underdark have a difficult time forming long term friendships than other races. Although drow are untrusting and devious they are not completely evil and drow could become forces of good when given the right conditions. But mental scars of drow culture is not easy to remove and the terrors of the underdark could leave drow with a fractured mind and even lose their sanity. The one thing that unites most drow is their hatred of Surface Elves (Darthiir) and it made them yearn to go to the surface and defeat them. Drow are known to surround themselves with beautiful things and enjoy long dinners, massages and formal dances.
Drow are obsidian colored skinned elves with flowing white hair. Rare hair colors include silver and copper hued. Female drow with blonde hues indicated that she was older and male drow had naturally silvering hair. Drow maintained their hair by carefully grooming it and wearing it long with jewelry and other accessories decorating it. Like all elves drow are incapable of growing beards the males are still fond of long sideburns. Drow eyes are commonly bright red and some care rarely have different colors including: paler eyes like brown, black, pink or gray. Rarely a drow could have blue or green eyes which usually indicated Surface Elven blood in their veins. They range from varied heights 5'4" - 6' and weighed from 130 - 175 lbs on average. Their lifespan is compareable to the elven races but sometimes longer reaching up to 1000 years or more. While Drow are vulnerable to light they have an affinity to darkness.
Drow society is Matriarchal, militaristic and heavily influenced by relgion. Their city-states are formed underground in huge caverns and are sometimes in chaos as they wage war against each other. The cities are rules by the most powerful families/houses and the ones in power changed often. Only a few ever remain stable. Male Drow are vicious and will resort to any means to become a high ranking male by marrying or becoming the mate of a powerful matron mother. Because of the matriarchal rule females were constantly competing to maintain their prestigious position within society and Lolth's teachings. Those outside of Lolth's church had to compete with other females and oppressed males. The most powerful families always claimed the best areas and leaving the other drow to claim what is left resulting in a city. The main focus of the city was normally a temple of Lolth and was normally on the ruling houses land. Magical items that had faerie fire on buildings showed prosperity. Garrisons and Slaves and farms were kept outside of the city. Various jobs are valuable in the Drow Society including: Warriors or Arcane spellcasters if they are male. Divine Wielders if Female. Scouts and Assassins were greatly valued in the drow culture.
The drow religion is chaotic like the goddess they generally worship, Lolth. Although some drow are known for worshipping Shar. The dieties worshipped changed depending on the environment you are born as most Cities would all worship a single Diety. Most follow Lolth but the drow born outside of the Underdark can be known for worshipping other deities. Because male drow can not become priests those who are adept in divine magic tend to worship Selvetarm, Lolth's Champion. Due to the caste system and other lawful aspects of the culture clashed with Lolth's intent and directives as a Chaotic Evil Goddess. Much of the tension grew between the Clergy of Lolth and more secluded drow.
Drow tend to form alliances with those they can outcome if things go south. This causes relationships in drow society to be very cautious. As for other races drow tend to be against most races that live on the surface as they are seen as weaker than the drow.
Tend to be neutral evil but can be a range of different alignments
